Ok, so I am in same boat as you guys then! :) Ya I held out on the whole myspace craze.... The part of me that wants no personally identifiable information on the net unless I really really need it to be there has been holding me back. But my friends are all going facebook this, facebook that...

I am holding out for a lack of time to manage that kinda project... Ya cause its really cool to post pictures of yourself with all your info.... so smart ;)

I am told you can restrict access to all the people you don't allow, and its cool cause you can get in contact from people as far back as Grade School with the groups they have setup, or people in your town, groups that your interested in etc....

I have been holding out but lately I was starting to give in to peer pressure; shame on me, I know.

I think I will let other people post information about me on their facebooks and beat them with internet sticks of DOOM or something..... I don't really care.

Now that I think of it I'm not really the kind of person to post pictures of myself for the public. I think I have shown irl (in real life) photo to about 5 people that I didn't know irl; and as far as socal networking on the web goes... its here, my cs:source clan and some people I used to hang out with on irc (internet relay chat). Thats the totality of people who I talk to on the web where I don't already know everyone irl.

I enjoy livejournal, I think writing here helps me sort out my random days and, releases some stress or something; I feel better after I write. It also allows me to see how much my spelling can suck with all the red lines, and teach me how to spell better and type faster than I already can. XD

Except for the lj tags its pretty straight forward... I really don't like them cause I am writing a lot of web scripts right now and its messing me up

I have been noticing that I have a really bad habit of using copious amounts of ..... slowing a pause in though or a run on the same I idea or something, >.< I almost did it again... Crap XD

Anyway its time for me to head home for supper ^_^

Here marks the end of the completely random post that this turned out to be.

I finished American Gods, it was another good read, it was dark and mystical; Practical and thought provoking. I really enjoyed it. The interaction with the gods, and the magic of the world really reminded me of R.A. Salvatore, and the forgotten realms series I read. Well in a slightly abstract sense.

I am messing with the colours when I get some more time... I honestly have a hard time reading the posts with my monitor setup on my laptop.

And quick question to Facebook or not to Facebook? I haven't signed up yet.... but a lot of ppl want me to join... what are your experiences or opinions of Facebook... I am kinda fence sitting this at the moment

And my friends are having the most messed up and weird conversations I seen in a while....
Well its Monday and I am just finishing up the last of my perl lab, it was due on Friday but got pushed back too Monday for some reason... I guess it gave me extra time to make it nicer to use... ya it would have worked.... but it wouldn`t have been very nice work with at all....

I went to see TMNT on Friday, and I picked up a copy of American Gods to read when I get some time. I have read 11 pages and it looks to have some good character development. So I will see where it takes me and get back to you.

If you have some time and want a book to read I will suggest Homeland by R.A. Salvatore. Its the first book in a great series that really tests the moral and overall character of the main character. I know I said character a lot there but trust me, it was the first book I ever felt so wrapped up in reading, and i have read quite a few books before that. This one was just a little different from the others.

Side note I keep on crashing winamp... I think I should be a beta tester or something... I think this is crash 10+ today. My friends all jokingly say if you want someone to break your program give it to me. Problem is I do... I get a lot of gremlins out of the wood work when i use something. I blue screened vista, my default operating system that came with my laptop went to hell in a hand basket the second I used it. The list goes on, but when I finally get things running nice they tend to stay nice for a long time. I think its the only thing that keeps me going with computers. Its the light at the end of the tunnel. So I will keep sending the error reports and hopefully this version will come out to the public with out all the bugs I am finding for them.

Ok first off, what was that line "I'm not dead yet" referring to....

Monty Python and the Holy Grail, I think that it also might have been in Austin Powers too, not sure...

Thanks again for another book referral, I will look into it when i have some free time. Amazingly even with out reading a lot lately I still can read pretty fast.

Getting caught up in school, I have a perl lab due where I need to write a email client, that is able to read and delete messages from an email server. Its about 50% done.

I have to develop a web site with a login and database connection, so I am creating a site where you can upload mp3s and listen to them though user changeable playlists with a flash player, for my php class. its about 10% done right now, I am still working on the layout and still need to code all the user interaction to get this where I want it.

I also am working with a group to develop a game like the windows game reversi, in java class, I will try and post links to some of these things after I am done working on them. I would call myself about -10% done right now. I need to catch up in the class and get working on this project as soon as I can.

Oracle class is going ok I am just keeping up with that, its a database, for those who are like whats a database I will say its like Microsoft access, or if you don't know what that is... I will say a really souped up version of excel... but not really anything like access or excel, except that it stores information in tables. I say that because if any read that who knew what oracle was would scream bloody murder if I left it at that

If all that went over your head its ok... its more of a checklist for myself to see actual status of how I think things are going in writing.

As for my music selection today... its more trance dance-ish then my normal music listening because I find I like that type of music when I am coding projects, its kinda something that keeps me going

I found this artist listening to online radio the other day. His music is available for download for free from his website www.uplifting.be if you feel inclined to check him out, I thought it was good set. I found this recording on his site labeled under mixes.

Oh ya I think I got a cold recently. If its not a cold its most likely my allergies starting back up for the spring... I'm really hoping it isn't.

I will be ninja up this post... oh ya.. lol Well I haven't posted in a little.

Whats new. I got my meds changed with my doctor and school is going much better because of this :)

I just found out that the new winamp beta works in vista... finally... This really makes me happy. I like listening to music and Windows Media Player is a resource hog, and it was also killing my online games with a drastic frame rate drop when I was playing them. I also temporarily gave up online gaming till I get caught up in school, which i think was a good move.

I read anansi boys in 2 days awhile back. I really enjoyed reading it. I think it originally reminded me of books that I read in school because its the first book since then that was set in a modern day setting. Sci-Fi and fantasy have been my primary genres.

Anyway I will get back to doing school work so this will be all for now, just posting to say "I'm not dead yet"

Name where that quote is from if you know...
Work called me in today after awhile off, and I seem to be getting paper cuts from card stock like paper... lets just say the paper cuts are getting to a level where chunks are starting to go missing from my fingers o.O;;

Anyway I stopped by the bookstore on the way to work today and made good on a promise I made awhile back. I found a copy of a book called Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman. I am currently on the second chapter and I can say its a different read from what I would normally read right off the bat. Reminds me of some of the books I used to read for English class back in high school. That isn't a bad thing. I can say my reading speed is slower than I remember it being , maybe its because sci-fi books are easier to read or something, I don't know. I am finding the book entertaining and I think I will see its course.

Need to get work done for school, actually start doing work in one class... dun dun DUN.... ya its week 7 and I don't think I really have done a thing in that class... Shame on me seriously...

I also have been slacking on the anime watching, that isn't all that bad, but I want to at least keep up with Bleach, and I hear the new Naruto started so I should finish the filler and call the old stuff dead to me.

***EDIT*** I randomly chose a layout today to use, if you have issues reading with the colours, let me know and i will mess with them. If I wasn't capable of that I would have to give up computer sciences as a major....

Yes the bleach filler is over, it was good, but the main arc is better. It amuses me that the bleach filler started after the naruto filler and finished before it as well. though they are saying that the naruto filler is the longest spanning filler ever.

I have just finished watching ergo proxy and the third, both really good series.

School is starting off good, yes I have some work to do and I am falling behind in one of my classes but am caught up with the rest.

Working after school so the 8hr shift after school sucks... oh ya valentines day is dead to me, I am currently working with the valentines day mail... about 800k worth of it.... so ya, I've haven't ever had a reason to celebrate on valentines day; cause well its a day for couples and if I am cynical at the time, commercialism.

Its sunny out, nice day, I'm freaking tired cause I don't know how to take a hint and go to bed at a decent hour... but other than all that, life is good.

***Disclaimer I was already going to write this before I read theskywasblue's journal*****

Frack I feel like I am coping them right now..... gaa ;__; anyway my blog... STILL NOT COPYING...... ;__;

well I have been feeling quite the winter wuse right now, yesterday it finally snowed and it was -2 and windy and I was like it was freezing. Which in my mind I am going I remember when I used to go out and this was nothing WTF. **This is related to what I read from theskywasblue ** I remember what it was like to stand in -40 weather waiting for the bus thinking my feet where going to fall off, now that was cold, -2 is nothing!!!!

Luck ally it seems like i am getting used to the colder weather, still a little cold, but tis the life of a guy with no body fat to speak of. Curse of the fast metabolism, well a blessing to for obvious reasons but still in the winter it sucks... that and cold pools... get way to cold to fast in those.

Ok and for a 360, school is going good, looks like I might not slack though this year and finnish so that is nice. I have been feeling more up emotionally recently for some reason which is nice. Sleeping more too which is also a good sign.

Next topic, I am going to be a supervisor at Anime North this year!! this is kinda cool since I have been volunteering for the last 2 and now I get a supervisor position and more time to enjoy the con since I actually have a defined role this year instead of the gofer, that just randomly helped everywhere I could all day for 3 days.... XD a day being time I got up to 2-3am, so yay to that. Perks of volunteering are almost free rooms this year cause someone stole equipment last year.. that was not cool. still free admission and $10 a night for 3 nights in a swank hotel, doing something I enjoy isn't that bad at all. Oh ya the occasional free meals are also very good perks of the job.

Another weird side topic.... woke up this morning and went for breakfast and my mom tells me that she is trying to set me up with someone and has conspired with there mother.... XD but I have been informed I will have to wait a year cause she is 17... lol

I guess I should get out there and find my first girlfriend already, I am 22 and never had a girlfriend, how sad is that. Just haven't met the right one cause they are all taken or not emotionally available... sigh**

And Another topic. I will still be perusing a dream to teach english in japan for a year or so, after I finish school, if I need a bachelors degree, I might cry... cause that would mean another year and a bit of school... I don't wanna... XD
I figure if I watch so much anime and am so interested in the culture I might as well get paid to do something it looks like i will enjoy.

last topic, I am "procuring" an anime called Air Gear right now. I think its a cool series, the premise behind it being micro-motors with the power equivalent to that of the power of a car engine in rollerblades. Cool eh? I think that would be pretty sweet, its also has its true anime comedic moments and the changes in animation styles to match them which put together with a good soundtrack make one good anime. Only problem is that my "procurement" is taking a couple days longer than it normally does so I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next ep... *curses* it usually takes a day or so I am coming up on the 4th.. gau

if you are wondering what I listen to and can't find it I occasionally update the following linked site. NO http:\\ in front of it or it won't work. I will try and change out the songs tonight to some better stuff after reviewing whats on there :) Its still a work in progress as you will see, but I think its coming along nicely.

daicefire.no-ip.org\www\musicv3

    <lj:music>See Blog For Music</lj:music>

Dunno why I feel this way, I recently finished a small ova called Macross Zero, it surprised me. Ya it was a mecha series but it was more than that. It was thought provoking, it showed the good and bad in humanity, and also allowed me a glimpse into the normal everyday things that I should and am grateful for. I really enjoy series like that.

In retrospect recently I have been getting really lucky in watching some amazing series.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is another one of them, its a comedy that has all its episodes in a messed up order, yet carries itself very well and is very amusing, definitely worth a look into. Its about 12 episodes so it isn't to long of a series. Warning **Series really starts on ep 2*** so if you watch it give it 2 episodes before deciding if you love/hate it.

Books/Authors
My favorite author right now has to be R.A. Salvatore.
I was recently introduced to his works little over a year ago and fell in love with one of his series and the characters in them. If you ever get a chance I suggest anyone read Homeland from the legend of the Drow series. Its the first book in the series and you can go on from there if you like it.

Another book and Author I would recommend anyone is Icefire by Garfield Reeves-Stevens,Judith Reeves-Stevens. Kind of a Triller genre I guess.

Music
------------------
Track - Replica
Artist - Yoko Kanno (Words: Gabriela Robin Vocals: Ilaria Graziano)
Album - Ghost in the Shell: Solid State Society

Why do I like this song?

I find the music and vocals moving so I listen to this song and just let it happen, let life happen and just feel my way though the music. I may not understand the exact lyrics without a translation but I won't let that ever stop me from listening to a good song.

Interesting Fact
Yoko Kanno is the composer for such series as Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, and Earth Girl Arjuna.

I'll actually be adding to my interest information for any who watch that stuff anyway. ^_^

The mailing is finally done!!! Sad news is there is no work for me to do right now... lol. Good news is school starts soon, so I will be finishing up my courses in may. Which is something to look forward too.

Sorry for the layout or lack there of anything anything visually stunning on this page. Such is the life of a lazy programmer. That and there is so many things I want to do and i haven't started any of them. Sigh

There is the above and I forget java-script. Like how do you do the hyperlink in the blog to expand into the full blog upon clicking it.. Kinda cool and would allow me to do some other things... I have seen some people do this so if you know how let me know k :)

Reinstalling everything on my laptop for school and trying not to mess it up again. hehehe... its so easy too. its my 6th reinstall. So I am trying some programs out that will help me stop destroying my installs. If they work like they hope I will share my secrets to keeping your computer as good as new, and purring like a kitten (figuratively speaking of course although I could get it to do it literally to...)

new years

Anyway I did indeed go to north bay for new years. It was a nice trip and I really enjoyed spending time with my friends. Also got hammered... which is rare. Interesting experience; my first hang over too. Woke up at 5am with a headache, took some water and was fine in the morning, which was nice. The imported Russian vodka was pretty good if I say so myself, it was vanilla flavored so it smelt like vanilla extract and when you mix it with coke or Pepsi it tasted like vanilla coke or better I don't really know... ^_^;;

Its sunny right now, I'm happy, I have good friends, and life is treating me pretty good right now. I don't really have anything to complain about. Its nice to have days like these.

Remember that mailing I was talking about around Dec 17... I looked it up cause it was so long ago... well we are still doing it. Oh and that guess of 300k of mail well that was wrong too. Looks like its closer to 850k x 6 pieces + 1 envelope = 5,950,000 pieces of paper. Yay a forest we have consumed for useless junk mail.  -_-;;

I just want it to end, thats all, after awhile the repetition gets to you. I also wouldn't mind my old desk job doing data work. It was easier and payed more.

In other news, there is talk among my friends to travel to north bay for new years. That looks like it might be interesting, I have never been to north bay, but seeing a friend up there I haven't seen since September will be nice, so I am kind of looking forward to it. Although the 4-5hr car ride there does look a little daunting.

Christmas was good. I saw a lot of my family, I will see the rest on January 19th for the last Christmas gathering. I saw my uncle from Whitehorse, and my other aunt and uncle from Grand Prairie, Alberta as well so that was really nice. I wasn't expecting to see the ones from Whitehorse so that was a really nice treat. I also got my first cellphone... I know wow... he got his first cellphone just now; OMG! Where was he the last decade? lol

Running

    <lj:music>Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars</lj:music>

What would you do if you spent your whole life running? Running from a pain you couldn't quite remember but didn't want to stop to find out, less it might actually kill you. In your running though it actually sucked in more pain and hurt and also stole the memories and times that you might have treasured. Yet you still ran, to afraid to stop, to look into the unknowing and unfeeling pain that had been locked up for so long, so much pain that you could only vaguely remember last week, let alone last year. That your life was just a collection of brief glimpses into the past. So you still ran, losing the pain and joys of your life... to afraid to look back, all in fear of the pain.

When I look at my life that is what I see. I guess that is why I am so afraid of death. I don't want that to be my story. Yet I still run. Life is not all care free there is a price. I lose my memories yes, but my subconscious also troubles me. I set myself up for failure, don't hand in finished or half-finished assignments for marking. Spending all my time doing everything but feeling so I don't go to bed at a reasonable time, and as a result I don't get up the next day so I miss classes. Ace my labs and freeze up on exams, I didn't apply for the things that would have allowed me to have extra times on these exams. In many cases would have allowed me to finish most of them. Increasing my scores, and my grades.

I guess I have learned to fear success, if you succeed, you have farther to fall. That and if you pull yourself down none else can. Sad but true fact.

I watch others following down this road of despair and sadness. I cannot even save myself let alone anyone else. I want to help them, but I know I am running away from what I need to do. Its easier to go around and try and fix everyone, rather than myself; and I know this. Alas I can only watch their journey, hoping they find the light of hope and the path away from this. So the pain doesn't continue to grow in the feudal attempts to run.

I write this now in the brief time I have actually feeling something truly real. A pain and emptiness but none the less real. Whether or not I find the right path there will be this moment and for now that is enough, and hopefully there will be another, and then possibly another, and eventually leading to a whole sting of moments like these that together lead to something better than now, and it is with this hope I have written this.

The first version of this was truly heartfelt but some tricky finger movements and I accidentally deleted it all with a page refresh... so notepad became king and I re-wrote this. Something I find amazing that I wrote this even once let alone twice. So maybe there is hope for me yet. ^_^. Well enough of that heavy stuff its all most Christmas and I need to catch some sleep for tomorrow

    <lj:music>Matthew Good - Pledge of Allegiance</lj:music>

So I can't come up with a really cool name or a witty thing that sounds good.... There are so many blogs out there and I am just not in the creative mind set... sue me -_^;; on second thought please don't I couldn't afford it... lol

I am working again which is nice cause I really need the money for Christmas, and my exams are so done. Work is so blah, so what do you do... pump gas.. thats so cool you get to see the sun once and awhile!! what do you do? oh I prep mail. how so... you know junk mail, bills etc... oh.. so about that gas.... hows the prices... XD (yes you know who you are) No one cares about mail its boring work. I usually do the database work and address correction and other fun stuff to help get mail going where it needs to go. It pays better too... but alas since I am still in school they hired another data guy and I have been moved to the production floor. Its really depressing. We are doing a mailing by postal code. aka mass junk mail right now for the whole city. so there are over 200k of stuff that needs to be inserted and preped.. I think it might be more like 300k with like 5 pieces of paper in each envelope. so thats 300k x 5 so thats 1,500,000 pieces of paper not including the envelope.

That is depressing to see, and most of it will just hit the trash. RECYCLE PLEASE PEOPLE with the envelope thats 1,800,000 pieces of paper lucky its postcard size but still the trees that were killed for this really. Ya it gives me a job but its depressing, so next time you think its only one piece of mail remember its brother and sister pieces everyone else got. A small piece forest of paper in the palm of your hand. and thats only one mailing. anyway enough shop talk.

ANIME!!!!!

What I am watching right now and my thoughts.

Bleach currently at ep. 107 - its filler right now but its good, I enjoy the storyline and its no where near as tiring to watch as naruto filler. I want to see the Movie so bad right now, it looks really good, well my hopes are high anyway

Naruto - ep. 212 - its filler storyline is tired and they need to get back to the main plot thankfully this is happening this coming spring. Still I will watch it just to say I have.... other than that well you haven't missed anything not watching it. Last subber note, watching this ep might decrease your intelligence, nuf said

Death Note - ep 10. - good series, dark storyline, really getting into it right now

Kanon - ep 10 - really good storyline, it carries itself quite well, worth a look into

Kiba - ep. 36. storyline is getting good, and I am happy with what I have seen so far

The Third - ep. 14 Good series its not really a-typical so its good

Ergo Proxy - ep 19. - watching the hd-subs so its slower. the quality is really amazing though. I think there are only 22 eps. and its a series I will think about buying when it becomes available and hopefully they don't butcher it. Its a really deep and intellectual series. and I am so thankful for subbers notes. Where I would be with out them I do not know.

Recently finished watching Noein, it was a good series and I enjoyed the ending, different animating style that is for sure. and thats in a good way

The really sad part of all this is only about 3 of my closer friends like anime, and sadly I don't hang out with them enough to watch any of this with. So i don't get to share in the anime experience with anyone. That and my parents disapprove of anime. So they wont watch it. Of that you may ask whats so sad about that.. well its the fact that I have watched over 100 anime series in 2 or 3 years all alone... thats a lot of time. I mean seriously, a good handful where 50 episode series.

I just think to myself ooh look another bug and move on.

Watched the vista launch. watched the stuff not work right too... they expect me as a consumer to purchase a 300+ dollar OS that doesn't work as well as XP... and you have issues saving a file.... SAVING A FILE... another thing that means not ready for launch... well in my opinion

that right there was a rant... sigh...

Talking to my friend who is helping me getting posted on lj, getting though all the ins and outs..., you know who you are and thanks.

Reading following a poster from msn space over here cause well they post good well posts... they go under the name theskywasblue , so you can check them out if you want or not its up to you.

and that is the end for now or is this the beginning... o.O;; not really random i know but I part of the we say so corp. well say it is so :P

yes that corp is from the show dinosaurs, its an oldie but a goody

oh ya this was all done on windows vista, I got my codec`s working for anime so thats all that really matters right now...
